Founded in 1844, it was the first Western medicine hospital after the opening of Shanghai port. It is equipped with advanced medical equipment including dual-source photon-counting CT, PET-CT, PET-MR, Da Vinci surgical robot, X-ray stereotactic radiotherapy system, TomoTherapy system, linear accelerator (LA), 320-row 640-slice ultra-speed spiral CT, hybrid operating room system and telemedicine teaching system. The hospital has 2,750 authorized beds. Annual outpatient and emergency visits reach 7.4584 million, inpatient admissions 268,200, and inpatient surgeries 134,000.
